Hot zone (environment). (2012). Wikipedia. Retieved from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/hot_zone_(environment)#types_of_hot_zone

I have use Wikipedia to research since I was in Grade Four. Wikipedia greatly contribute to my study. However, I have never thought about to be an editor of Wikipedia. The assignment of this week gives me a chance to an editor of Wikipedia. I choose the stub, hot zone (environment), which is a very interesting topic. I expand the biological hot zone and nuclear hot zone, which are predominate issue in recent years. For example, the areas where have swine influenza and the areas where have radioactive chemicals are the places where people concern about the safety. However, there are not many information about any aspects of hot zone, so I specifically choose articles of biological hot zone of swine influenza and nuclear hot zone in Japan.
Wikipedia gives various kinds of information, which is a very good and convenient source for learning more knowledge if the information is from trustful references. However, in the lecture, it talks about that there are about four errors in one article of Wikipedia, which is very high compare to other encyclopedia, and a lot of information is from non-peer reviewed articles or non-official websites. Some information may be not accurate due to everyone can edit in Wikipedia. Many non-researchers expand information by using commercial websites or magazines.  I am not familiar to this topic, I cannot directly collect data and do the analysis about the hot zone, and I only get the information from secondary source, so I cannot judge the information whether is true or not. However, under this situation, I try as much I can to make a good article of Wikipedia by researching a lot of academic paper from database and researching statistics from official websites, so my article about hot zone has high reliability.
You can get more information about the hot zone (environment) and Realibility of Wikipedia. Lastly, you can fine more wikipedia post from other students' blog post Chronicles of Shan

Facebook Page

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Crystal-Hs-Page/305626309490070#!/pages/Crystal-Hs-Page/305626309490070?sk=wall
This is my first Facebook Page. I have never created a Facebook Page before this class. Facebook page is different from my personal Facebook. Facebook page can let more people to know about me, but only my friends can get my personal information and what I have done from personal Facebook. One Facebook Page has only one topic, which anybody who interested in this topic can click LIKE, and get more updated information from the Facebook page. The reason why I create a Facebook page is that I want to get more information about nutrition and health. I also want to know other people's opinion about my research, and I am looking forward about that other people post their research and what they find from other resource. Therefore, the page may contain a lot of information about nutrition and health. All people can learn a lot of nutrition and health knowledge from my page.

Facebook page is very helpful for my future career.I can post any research which I found to the Facebook page. I will post all the link and information to the page if I find some useful nutrition and health information, so the page seems like an online nutrition and health library. We can regard this Facebook page as conference. Everyone can talk about nutrition and health onto the page. I can post all updated nutrition and health information to the page, and others who are interested in can post as well, so we can share all the information. After I have done a research, I will post the result and link of my report to the page, so everyone can see my result, analyze and discuss. After a few years, there will be thousands of information on the page. To my job, I need do a lot research, so this can be my blueprint of my research analysis.

introduction

I'm Lutong Huang. Every one calls me Crystal. I'm in second year of nutrition and food science majoy. I'm very interested in nutrition because nutrition is close to our life everyday.

Checking Facebook is one thing I must do everyday. I can't live without contacting my friends even one day. I need to know what my friends do, by the way to contact them what are we going to do.  Communication is very important for my field of study because I need to get information about nutrition and food science from other people and tell them what I think. In my current study and future work, I do need to always cooperate with other people to discuss and research, so communication is the only way to share ideas. One most important thing is presentation!! For every research I've done, I have to present to other people.

Communication is  important. For example, when my partner and I do the research about what nutrient is contained in a tomato. First of all I do need to do the research about tomato. I should research what nutrients are contained in tomato and what do the other research say about the tomato. I can have a lot of way to do the research. I can join the group of nutrition in Facebook, or click in twtter read someone says about the tomatoes. From those, I can get some information from non-reseacher, because sometimes non-researcher may say something helpful, and reflect my research. Then, I need to look for some journals from other profesors or researchers blogs or websites, and read what they research. Before the lab, we should share about what we get the information. Finally, when we work in the lab, we need to communicate about what we found from the experiment. Then, we gather both information and analyze the result. After we done the experiment, we write paper. We should post it on the blogs and share what we found from the experiment, and compare others.
